Miranda is awarded an AHA Predoctoral Fellowship!
Congratulations to Miranda, who was awarded a prestigious Predoctoral Fellowship from the American Heart Association this month! Miranda will be studying how fatty acids affect the activity of a mechanosensitive channel in red blood cells.
Our paper is out in Angewandte Chemie!
Our paper investigating how DNA tethers enable fusion between specific populations of lipid vesicles and can be used to initiate cell-free reactions is out in Angewandte Chemie. The work was led by Justin Peruzzi and explores how membrane domains can enhance membrane fusion and thereby increase the yield of encapsulated cell-free expression reactions. Great job […]
Claire Receives Research Awards!
Congratulations to Kamat Lab undergrad, Claire Hilburger, who was awarded Northwestern’s BME Award for Research and the 2019 BMES Student Design and Research Award! She’ll be presenting her research at the BMES Annual Meeting on October 18th. She’s headed to grad school next year- keep an eye out for her!
